When traveling to Minnesota, there’s no shortage of good restaurants to visit. You’ll want to check out the following on your next visit to the state.

  • Black Forest Inn
  • Few restaurants in Minnesota capture the state’s strong German roots as well as the Black Forest Inn in the heart of south Minneapolis. The diner has been open every day since 1915 serving German favorites such as bratwurst, spaetzel, Wiener Schnitzel and Sauerbraten.

  • Mancini’s
  • Across the river in St. Paul, Minnesota celebrates its Italian heritage at the Mancini’s. Just minutes from the State Capitol, the char house and lounge has been in business since 1968, offering steak and lobster cooked on huge open-hearth charcoal pits.

  • Betty’s Pies
  • Just north of Duluth and a few steps from Lake Superior, you can find some of the best pies in the Midwest. Betty’s Pies makes over 300 fresh pies per day ranging from Apple to Blackberry peach to Butterfinger. Betty’s blue and white colors and lunch counter theme add loads of charm to the experience.

  • Sparkling Waters Restaurant
  • More than anything, Minnesota is known for its lakes. So, why not enjoy lunch or dinner on the shores of gorgeous Lake Bemidji at Sparkling Waters Restaurant? The signature of Sparkling Waters’ all-American menu is, of course, fish.

  • Nye’s Polonaise Room
  • Nye’s Polonaise Room in Minneapolis was selected as one of the best bars in America by GQ Magazine. The food’s not bad either. The menu features traditional Polish cuisine from pierogis to golabkis.
