Make Sure To Rescan Your Channels
When you think you're ready for the digital switch, be sure to rescan your channels.
If you have hooked up your TV set to a digital converter box or purchased a new digital television, you must rescan your TV to receive all digital stations broadcasting in the Portland area.
During the transition period, KPDX will cease transmitting the analog broadcast signal, perform transmitter modifications and then begin transmitting the digital stream on UHF 30.
The channel will be KPDX-DT; however, viewers must have their digital TVs and digital tuners rescan and search the broadcast spectrum to find the location of KPDX-DT 49.1.
It's a good idea to scan once a month and also scan again after the DTV switch.
Some boxes may rescan automatically.
