New in Theaters

This Is It
This Is It
Not a very big weekend for new releases, This Is It is about all there is. A wonder tribute to the King of Pop and because a lot of the content wasn't meant for the public, it has a strong connection and authenticity. This is not a great film but it is very entertaining and exposes the true heart and nature of Michael Jackson.

Here is a list of frightful movies to get you in the mood this weekend:

New on Blu Ray/DVD

Whatever Works
Whatever Works
This is also a light weekend for home rentals. Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is what it is and makes the target demographic happy, but that is about it.

Woody Allen returns to comedy with Whatever Works. Staring Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld), Whatever Works is a little slow and neurotic but eventually pulls you in and is quite enjoyable.

In Medicine for Melancholy, a young couple from San Fransico wakes up together not knowing one another. They spend the weekend trying to make more from a one-night stand and eventually and intimate connection. Medicine for Melancholy is an updated romantic drama that feels genuine and true to life. Funny, lovely and completely heartwarming.
