KUPL 98.7 FM will be hosting Portland Rescue Mission's fifth-annual "Give Hope" radiothon to raise money to provide meals and care for the men, women and children who will come to Portland Rescue Mission this holiday season and throughout the year.

On Tuesday, November 24th KUPL 98.7 FM will partner with Portland Rescue Mission in a one-day radiothon to help provide meals and care for the men, women and children who walk thru their doors during the holiday season and throughout the year. Over the past 4 years KUPL has helped raise over 100,000 meals for Portland Rescue Mission.

KUPL on-air personalities will be broadcasting live from the KPTV FOX-12 Studios where volunteers will be actively answering phones, taking donations and tracking how many meals are being provided throughout the day. Local companies like Fred Meyer will take part in raising funds through generous contributions or incentives offered during the radiothon.

Since 1949, Portland Rescue Mission has provided hope, transformation and total life recovery for homeless people right here in our community. At Portland Rescue Mission, professional staff works to break the cycle of homelessness one person at a time. From their men's shelter on Burnside Street, to Shepherd's Door, their long-term recovery facility for homeless women and children in Northeast Portland, they strive to transform lives. They provide skills training, education, counseling and vocational assistance to help people get back on their feet, achieve total life recovery and become a productive part of Portland's community.
