New Jersey has plenty of options for hungry travelers.

Mélange Cafe
At its locations in Cherry Hill and historic Haddonfield, the Mélange Cafe combines the flavors of New Orleans and Italian cooking to create its critically acclaimed dishes. Among the favorites are Louisiana dirty rice with clams, the lamb salad and pan-seared tilapia.

Carmine's - Atlantic City
Go to Carmine’s, but don’t go alone. Like its namesake in New York, the restaurant’s Atlantic City outpost serves its food family style. Entrées arrive tableside piled high atop large platters, each holding enough food to feed three or four people.

Rosa Mexicano
Rosa Mexicano has been serving authentic Mexican meals, like Guacamole en Molcajete, since 1984. A long-time New York staple, the restaurant now has a location in Hackensack, N.J.

3 Forty Grill
From its position along the waterfront in Hoboken, N.J., diners enjoy a view of the New York skyline. The menu at 3 Forty Grill features eclectic creations using the freshest seafood and steaks. There is also a martini lounge and raw bar.

Water and Wine
The charming ambience and stunning outdoor views pair well with Water and Wine's Mediterranean-inspired steak and seafood dishes. Among the favorites at the Watchung, N.J., restaurant are the beef short ribs cooked in a Guinness and port reduction sauce and the zuppa di pesce, piled high with lobster, salmon, calamari and shellfish.
