Portland's very own Pink Martini, the 14 piece "little orchestra" is back with their fourth album, "Splendor In The Grass." Come and celebrate the release in full force at the Chrystal Ballroom, October 26th. Much of the album will be debuted at the Monday show. The 14 track album will feature Chavela Vargas, Emilio Delgado, Ari Shapiro and famed guitarist and leader, Courtney Taylor-Taylor of the Dandy Warhols. The long awaited album includes in the classic Pink Martini style alongside excursions into 1970's, modernist/minimalism, classic ranchera and swing.

Pink Martin blends toe tapping music genres such as Lain, lounge, classical, and jazz. Band Leader, Thomas Lauderdale describes the band's sound as "music of the world without being world music. It's kind of like urban symphonic crossed with Cuban/Brazilian street Carnival parade, Breakfast at Tiffany's/United Nations kind of thing. The goal was to create the kind of records with which one would hopefully never grow tired of. Records that could be played whether you were sad or gleeful. Cleaning, vacuuming around the house or seducing somebody's grandmother."
