Higgins Restaurant is the original home of local, organic Northwest cuisine, served for lunch and dinner in a warm mahogany dining room and bar. Sourcing sustainable ingredients for seasonally-driven menus has become all the rage in the past few years, but chef and owner Greg Higgins was a man ahead of his time, recognizing the bounty in our own backyard and committing to using produce and meat only from local, organic farms when he opened his own restaurant in 1994. Today, meals are true works of art, combining Northwest flavors with French cooking techniques and creative global influences; they are stunning, yet unpretentious presentations — just like the restaurant itself, a longtime favorite pre-theater dinner stop in downtown's cultural district while at the same time a convivial after work hangout.
