Ahhh, the joy of coming in from the cold to the warmth of a roaring fire - not to mention its romantic and seductive allure. Plus, everyone looks their hottest in the flattering, flickering glow! So cozy up and enjoy a fireside chat with a special friend at one of these blazing hot Happy Hours with cool fireplaces.

Andina - 1314 NW Glisan St
Happy Hour: Mon - Sat 4:00 - 6:00pm
Food specials: $1.50 - $4
Drinks: $5 exotic cocktail specialties
Atmosphere: Upscale and warm South American flavor
Andina's Peruvian style interior is more high-style Lima than Machu Picchu, with high wooden-beamed ceilings, copper-topped tables, painted stucco walls and a huge, captivating fireplace. Choose from few, but interesting and delicious ethnic small plates like skewers of marinated chicken, beef heart or grilled octopus.

Blue Moon Tavern (McMenamins) - 432 NW 21st Ave

Atmosphere: Casual, wooden-boothed NW hangout
One of the most unique fireplaces in town consists of a 15-foot central table in-the-round with a dramatic blazing fire taking center stage. Cheap eats consist of chips and pico de gallo, bean dip, spinach & artichoke dip and Cajun or regular tater tots.

Edgefield's Little Red Shed (McMenamins) - 2126 SW Halsey St

Atmosphere: Cozy, revamped garden shed on bucolic grounds
You'll have to get lucky to sit next to the fire here, with only one table in this very tiny and dimly-lit front bar, but time it right and it's an exceptionally wonderful, secret haven to enjoy a glass of wine fireside. No Happy Hour food discounts, but you can order from a limited menu of pizza or sandwiches.

Tin Shed Garden Cafe - 1438 NE Alberta St
Happy Hour: Wed - Sat 3:00 - 6:00pm & Sun 3:00pm - Close

Drinks: $2 domestics, $3 micros & well, $5 specialty drinks
Atmosphere: Colorful, casual inside with big outdoor (and partially covered) beer garden
Rustic corrugated tin walls complement otherwise bright colors everywhere at this hoppin" NW Alberta spot. If it's too loud and festive inside, head out to their expansive outdoor garden café and stay warm by the giant stone fireplace. The menu has a handful of fresh and oh-so-tasty entrees like the Jammin' Quesadilla, jalapeno mac, fish tacos, burger, shed salad and artichoke dip.

Thirst Wine Bar (RiverPlace) - 315 SW Montgomery St
Happy Hour: Tue - Fri 3:00 - 6:00pm

Drinks: $2.50 select pints, $1 wine, $10 flight specials (late night only)
Atmosphere: Classy wine bar with river views
Located right on RiverPlace Esplanade with huge windows for people and river gazing, relax in Thirst's side lounge with comfy couches, a fireplace and big-screen TV. The later Happy Hour menu offers a few discounted nibbles good with wine: bruschetta, olives or cheese with bread, and crab dip. Or splurge and try one (or two) of their exceptional desserts.

Three Degrees - 1510 SW Harbor Way

Drinks: $3 pints & martinis
Atmosphere: High-style Northwest hotel dining on the river
It's all about three here: starts at 3:00pm, food for $3, and drinks for three, too. The space is romantic, upscale perfection with river views, cushy seats and a cozy fireplace with two sides. There's a new Happy Hour menu coming soon, but it currently includes truffle fries, hummus, olives, provolone grilled cheese, onion rings, chips & salsa and sliders.

Vault Martini Bar - 226 NW 12th Ave
Happy Hour: Mon - Fri 4:00 - 7:00pm (except Thursdays), Sun all day
Food specials: None
Drinks: $4 - $5 select martinis (choice of 20 or so)
Atmosphere: Sophisticated, upscale Pearl martini bar
The airy, modern space is still cozily small - perfect for mingling - with comfy seating surrounding their roaring fire. Add in a couple of their house martinis, and you'll be all nice and toasted.
